GAPSA Leadership
Mohammed (Mo) Soumaoro
Vice President for Operations
Mo is deeply humbled to serve the graduate and professional students at Penn this academic year as Vice President for Operations at GAPSA. He is a second-year Master of Science student in Social Policy and Data Analytics. Born in a post-conflict country, Mo has firsthand experience with the challenges and hardships that arise from living in such an environment. These formative experiences ignited his passion for social change and fueled his commitment to using social policies as an effective tool for creating meaningful and lasting change for marginalized communities around the world. Mo is a dedicated social impact leader and data enthusiast with a proven track record in nonprofit and startup leadership, member and client engagement, and program coordination. As this year’s VP of Operations, Mo leads the Data Analytics, Logistics, Public Relations, and Alumni Relations teams, ensuring that GAPSA operates with streamlined processes that promote data-driven initiatives and foster collaboration across GAPSA’s divisions, the G12 schools, and other student groups.
For fun, Mo loves playing soccer and is a diehard Arsenal supporter. He also supports the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA, the Green Bay Packers in the NFL, and is a super fan of tennis player Coco Gauff.
