What does GAPSA offer? Am I eligible for funding?
GAPSA has many sources of funding available to University of Pennsylvania graduate and professional students for travel, research, initiatives, and events.
Some funds are awarded by the Professional Council or Research Council, and others are awarded by the Finance Committee and General Assembly.
The mode of application and eligibility criteria vary per grant, so it is suggested that you thoroughly read the instructions and eligibility criteria for each one that you are considering applying for. After reading the instructions for a grant, if you still have questions, please do not hesitate to email the contact listed for each source of funding.
Am I a professional or research student?
Research students are defined by the University of Pennsylvania as PhD, AM, or MS students. Variations on these (i.e., MSE or MSEd) are considered to be professional degrees, which constitute the majority of postgraduate degrees at the University. Professional degrees include, but are not limited to, DMD, EdD, JD, MB, MBA, MD, MSE, MSEd, and MSN.
